Mail Merge issues from Excel

Hi There,

Im trying to do a mail merge from an excell sheet, when i pull the date in, i have a colum called "number" and it is the apartment number. the ones that are alph numeric, are coming up as 0 rof instance, if i have Apartment A-3 when the field displays in the mail merge, it shows up as ZERO (0) anything that i need to do in word to have this corrected?

Select the data in the apartment number column, choose Data|Text To Columns and at Step 3 of the Wizard check Text and click Finish.

how does that help me in the mail merge in word?

I think you will find that your mail merge will work after the column has been converted to text.
