Macros in Access for Pivot tables

We are trying to automatically build a pivot table within a macro. Once we have the pivot chart view under a run command in the macro, we do not know how to select the field prior to the pivot table move to filter area for example. How do you select the field so the macro will load the filter area.

Is it also possible to pre-build the pivot table and store it within a macro.

Thank you

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
I think you should try this over on the Excel forum.
I can see that it's really an Access question - how do you run VBA/macros inside Access to create a Pivot Table (in Excel) AND set a filter value.

But, the latter two questions are really pure Excel questions.

How do you create a Pivot Table & Filter from code.

Once it's created inside the Excel application, you should start asking how to run that from Access.

Mike,

Thank you for the response. I figured out my problem after I wrote the e-mail and was able to do it all in access.

Thanks again

Great, I was going to give you a "we don't have PIVOT tables in Access" but I just read another post above in the this forum saying "In the latest version of Access"

I had no clue - AccessXP(2003) adds Pivot tables...interesting.

Throw me a frickin' bone here people
