Hi,

I am looking for a macro to update the data source automatically.
This will also mean that the table range will increase with additional rows, sometime additional columns.

Each month we receive 2 source data files which I save to our server for the given month. Both data files are saved in the same file path just depends on the new month and also year which will change e.g as below
S:\XXXX\XXXXX\XXXXX\Database\2017\08 Aug

I would like the macro to update the data source to include additional rows and columns, update all pivots in the workbook (Could range from 3-20 pivots) and include any new additional months/periods in the pivot table.

Just to note,
  1. Generally the additional month is included in the pivot table once the data source is refreshed.
  2. The majority of the Pivot table feed from one specific data file with some additional pivots coming from the second.
  3. The data files we receive a quite large and the workbook with our pivot tables can become big also.

I hope someone can help.

Thanks,

Paul

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
The file will be essentially the same but it will contain an additional months data i.e additional rows and sometimes new columns.

Our team receive a monthly data file which we use for monthly reports. The look and feel of the file is always similar but just updated with new data.

Once we receive the new file for the given month we save it to our team directory for that period.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you
