I want to copy the contents of cell A5 to the bottom of a list that begins at D10 of the same sheet and goes down that column as new values are added to the list. For example, if the list now extends to D18, I'd like the value currently in A5 to be pasted to cell D19. At a subsequent time I'll want to paste the then-current value in A5 to cell D20. And repeat as needed. If it matters, the list in Column D will not exceed 50 elements in length.

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
What is triggering this macro to run?
Are you calling it to run automatically, or is there something else triggering it?

Note that the block of code you need might look something like:
Code:
If Range("D10") = "" Then
    Range("D10") = Range("A5")
Else
    Cells(Rows.Count, "D").End(xlUp).Offset(1,0) = Range("A5")
End If
