Does anyone know if there are (virus scan??) applications which strip out macros from spreadsheets?

I have a spreadsheet which contains macros. The spreadsheet is being copied to multiple servers. On one server, the macro is missing from the spreadsheet. All the other servers get a copy of the file with the macros intact.

The server support group isn't sure where to look. I thought I'd offer up any info I could obtain, if anyone has any suggestions.

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Are they physically missing? [ You'll get no macro alerts if Macro Security is set to High. ]

I know emailers sometimes strip them; don't know about distribution across servers.

Yes, the macros are missing.

The macro security is set to Medium. If I open the spreadsheet on one server, I get the Disable/Enable Macros question, and I see the macros when I Enable Macros.

Using the same machine, the same Excel executable and macro security still set to Medium, if I open the file from another server, I don't get asked the Disable/Enable Macros question - as the macros aren't there.

Have you checked with your IT Department about network settings on that server?

It may have an unusually Draconian virus scan enabled.

And like John said, some e-mail apps can strip code. Lotus Not(s) used to do it to me all the time until we had IS make some adjustments.

The NT server group is looking into it. It sounds like whatever network settings are on this one server, are different from all the other servers they maintain.
