Macro enabled Workbook - Worksheet doesn't scroll down, but scroll bars do

I had an .xlsm workbook where suddenly all macros stopped working. When I looked for my macros in Developer tab>View Macros, the list was completely empty. A suggestion was made to 'Open the file in Protected Mode, then go to Developer>Visual Basic, click on "Debug" and click on "Compile VBA Project". Save, close and reOpen'. This did bring back the macros and they're working again.

Unfortunately, now the area that is the entire sheet window will not scroll vertically (up and down) at all. Strangely, the scroll bar on the right of the sheet does indicate the sheet is moving up and down, but the sheet window (range of visible cells) never moves along with it. No matter how far down I drag the scrollbar, rows 1 thru 38 remain the only view, as if they're frozen there. (For example, when I click-and-hold on the vertical scroll bar button and drag down, the mouse pointer tool tip that pops up might indicate I'm on row 1543, but 1 thru 38 are on the screen).

The horizontal scrolling (left-to-right) functions perfectly as it should.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).

Disregard this question. By zooming extremely far out, I was able to see a faint line that was a Freeze Pane on a row several hundred rows down that must have been set during the VBA fix. Removing the Freeze Pane fixed my problem.
