Hello all, I googled a bit and it seems like macros don't work within shared workbooks. Maybe there is a way around it or something, but this is what I need.
In workbook one would be a code where in inputbox would be entered a number. That number would be searched withing shared workbook and when found copy some data from workbook1 to shared workbook. Possible? Thanks

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Okay, maybe if I give more info and concrete question I might get an actual answer.
Have 2 workbooks, in Workbook1 is a Sheet1 with a list of items in some columns.
Workbook2 would have many worksheets on which, when number code is found, some info would be copied.
Workbook2 is shared, not protected.
As:
On a button click in the Workbook1;sheet1 an Userform would show, textbox1 would be for search and textbox2 used to filter out sheets from Workbook2
Something like search "textbox1.value" in workbook2.Sheet"textbox2.value"
After value is found in there it would copy some cells from workbook1 to workbook2
cells to be copied would be in same row as search number in Workbook1, so I guess it can be done with some offset functions.
Hope it makes sense and it's possible for macro to deal with shared workbooks
Thanks
