Hi everyone...I've lost the password for sheet protection in Word. I was wondering if anyone knew of a simple add - in like there is for Excel that will retrieve a lost password on a sheet?
Hey NatO..thanks for the reply. I actually use that add-in for Excel..but this is Word. On his site he gives links to software you can pay for....but hey... life is too short to HAVE to pay for something...so guess what. Here is what those companies are charging money for...to remove a password from a read-only password-protected Word file, first, open the document and do a "Save As..." specifying Rich Text Format (RTF). It'll end up being called something.rtf. Now open the RTF file by double-clicking on it. It should look identical to the original Word file. Final step: save the RTF file with a new name as a Microsoft Word format document.
