Losing slicer pivot table connections

I have three slicers on a dashboard that are connected to 7 pivot tables. Occassionally when the workbook is opened the pivot table table connections in the slicer are unchecked. I've been unable to re-create this problemly successfully. Are there known issues that I should be aware of.
 

Excel Facts

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
