Losing relative hyperlinks in Office 2003

Hi folks.

I have this problem that has started happening in the last 2 weeks -
losing hyperlinks in all Office docs across common shared drives/folders.

We are using Small business server 2000 with XP Prof SP2 & Office 2003.

I searched MS & found this

So I applied the hotfix according to instructions & still the same problem!

Any ideas?
