Losing Data when Importing from Excel to Access

I am working in an Access Database and have pasted data from Excel. I did not receive any paste errors, but found that there was a bunch of data missing from the Access table. After reviewing, it appears that the excluded records included quotes in the description field. I figured out how to fix it, by changing the field from memo to text, but I would like to understand why it happened.

Why did I not receive a paste errors warning? Why were the records excluded?

Any info will be very helpful!

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"

How long are these fields? Are they over 255 spaces (Text fields can only hold up to 255 spaces)? If so, Access may be dumping them because they are too long.

Normally, if you are bringing data into Access, you will want to use the Import functionality. It is much more reliable (and at least tells you when errors occur - even if their error descriptions are sometimes less than helpful). I rarely see anyone copy and paste data from Excel to Access.
