Hello there,

I have a file set as the table below. I want to be able to change the "(3)" to any given number in one cell, doing so in all cells, but no the actual card number.
I want the setup to be like the 1:st column, and not like the 2:nd.
Might add that these cells are not connected to eachother, so any type of "fill" soloution is not an option.
Hope, I've made myself clear, but feel free to ask if I havn't!

Card 1 (3)

Card 1 (3)

Card 2 (3)

Card 1 (3)

Card 3 (3)

Card 1 (3)

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
This would change 3 to a 4 for example:

=SUBSTITUTE(A1,"(3)","(4)")

Or just use built in CTRL-H

Find what (3)
Replace with (4)

Not quite what I'm looking for.

Card 1 (3)
Card 1 (4)

Card 2 (3)
Card 2 (4)

Card 3 (3)
Card 3 (4)

This is what i want. If I change the "(x)" in the first cell, I want that number to change in the rest aswell, without anything else changing. Or do I missuse the formula you gave me?

As you say there is the replacement tool, but I would like it to bu simpler than that.

There isnt anything more simple than the replace tool for what you describe. If you change a cell and want others to change they either need to be formulas dependant on the original changed cell or you need VBA.
