Good Morning,

Here is what I cannot figure out. I have a column of dates (Column A), then I have a much shorter column of dates (Column B). What I am trying to do is create a formula that looks at the date in Column A; but returns the closest date in Column B (however, cannot be a previous date - needs to be closest (next) date. Any help would be awesome...

Thanks,
S.

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
If the dates in the B-range sorted in ascending order...

=INDEX($B$2:$B$400,MATCH($A2,$B$2:$B$400,1)+(LOOKUP($A2,$B$2:$B$400) < $A2)))

If not, control+shift+enter, not just enter:

=MIN(IF($B$2:$B$400>$A2,$B$2:$B$400))
