I am a long time lurker. MrExcel forum has had huge impact on my excel skills over the years. When I search for excel solutions I always parse the ones at this forum first.

Finally had a question I couldn't get answered by benefiting from someone else post so I had to join and ask myself.

I am crash and burn trained. My last official class on spreadsheets was for appleworks on the apple IIe.

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Glad to see you have joined us.
When seeking help please always provide specific details.

Like:

Sheet Name
Value to search for
Search for value where. Like search for value "George" in column G
Then when found do this.

Please never say search the other sheet and search column "Name"

Say something like this:

Please search column G on sheet named "Master" and if "George" is found in column G copy this row of data to a sheet name "Students" and the sheet named "Students" already exist.

Providing specific details always speeds up giving you the answer you want.

And I must admit when some posters provide no specific details I sometimes just never try to help.
Looking forward to your request for help or seeing you help someone else here.

Thank you for the tips. I am still figuring it all out again. It has been many a year since being in a regular forum as well. Even then it was typically just banter.

I was more concerned I had too much detail and it be too confusing in my description.

Yes I saw your posting from the link you provided. It's way too much for me to understand.
