Good day all!

I have trouble protecting my sheet's data.
I would like to lock my sheet but keep the label alterable/unlock. I know how to do it for cells, but for the labels I can not do it.

While clicking on the protect sheet, there is no case for the labels to tick.

Thank you in advance for your help,
David.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Welcome to the forum

When protecting ...
- scroll to bottom and check the box "Edit Objects"

Does that achieve what you want?

Hello Yongle,

I have already tried but it does not work. When I go to the label manager, is it still grey and any modification are forbidden. :(

I am using the last version, so the 2019.

It is the label in the fomulas->defined name->name manager. So I suppose I shoud call them "name" then
I want to change their value even when the sheet is locked.

It is safer not make up your own label for anything Excel has already labelled otherwise we have no idea which label it is

Re-phrased question : I would like to lock my sheet but keep Named Ranges editable
Answer : that is not possible

What can I do : Lift sheet protection first

If this is something you need to do on a regular basis consider using VBA to lift and re-apply protection
