Greetings,

I recently updated my excel software to 2019...long overdue...anywho, when I copied my workbook files I transferred a workbook named Personal.xlsb from a different machine running excel 2003. The personal workbook was included in the files that I transferred, but was of a different format.

I copied from a txt file written macros and loaded them into modules in the personal workbook in the VBE. My question is how to locate this file in my file system.

In the immediate window I typed "thisworkbook.path" and received a pathway, but the path used a file that is not present "appdata" how can I locate the personal workbook so that I can turn it into an icon for easy opening and closing?

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
From what you said I guess the xlsb workbook is opened in excel.
Activate the workbook window, go to File -> Info
There on the right there must be a button Open File Location

If you already have the output from ?ThisWorkbook.Path simply copy the result and paste it into the address bar of File Explorer (I don't believe you are missing the AppData folder).

I found the file...in order to move the file I had to change a file system setting -> unhide files and folder. This allowed me to click on the AppData file

Thanks!
