I am doing vlookup in 2 Excel workbooks.
Workbook1:
column D contains either value or null (through formula).
Workbook2:
Column X contains either 1 or 0.
How to get corresponding column D value (in Workbook2, column Y) if column X=1. For column X=0, answer required is null.

Excel Facts

Best way to learn Power Query?
Read M is for (Data) Monkey book by Ken Puls and Miguel Escobar. It is the complete guide to Power Query.
You could use an IF like this:
IF( Workbook2!ColumnX = 1; Workbook1ColumnD; NULL)
or IF( Workbook2!ColumnX = 1; Workbook1ColumnD; "")

[edit]
Instead of ColumnD you will have to use your VLOOKUP function there of course..
Depending on where the lookup value is:
IF( Workbook2!ColumnX = 1; VLOOKUP(LookupValue; Workbook1; ColumnD); NULL)
