Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
I would not think this could be done. A listbox could have hundreds of values in it. How would you think you could see all the values in the listbox without scrolling down the listbox?

Now if you only have maybe 40 items in the listbox then maybe you could see them all if the listbox with tall enough. I assume you know you can make the listbox font size larger. In design mode right click listbox choose properties choose "Font" and change font size.

You would need to use a listbox like in a userform so it won't be affected by the worksheet zooming

So do you have things working OK now. Did you go with the plan in post 4? If not I'm not sure what you mean when you say not developer one. Then how did you make your listbox?

I see. It's a Data Validation list. Not a "listbox". Are you saying your having a hard time seeing the values in the data validation list? If so that is a problem others have complained about but there is no solution as far as I know using Excel 2013 or earlier. I'm not sure if they fixed this problem in Excel 2016 or not.

If your problem is your having a hard time seeing the values in a Data Validation list. There could be a Vba solution if you wanted. You would need a Activex listbox with your values and then a script entering the value from the listbox into the active cell.
