list of special characters used in excel

I am looking for a list of characters that is used in Excel what for what reason. For example, I know "$" is used to lock a cell, "!" is used to refer to different tab, etc. Tried to google but got different things. Thank you very much

Do you only want special characters used in formulas? (also used in headers, footers, fitering etc)

I do not think the list you are looking for exists - I suggest you begin by creating a good initial list and post that list - others can then help add to your list
