This is not vb just plain EXCEL.

I recently had to replace my hard drive and re-install my software and needless to say there are so many minor things I am trying to resolve.

My list of Recent Files seems to frequently disappear. I know when I reboot / restart that the list has gone but I suspect it happens on more occasions.

I tried to look at the EXCEL Options - i.e. Office Button then Excel Options Box. I check and I have 17 set as the number of recent files to display. Earlier the Excel Options Box failed to display but on exit and restart that seems OK.

Any ideas appreciated

Excel Facts

Remove leading & trailing spaces
Save as CSV to remove all leading and trailing spaces. It is faster than using TRIM().
Do you run any software that cleans up your hard drive like CCleaner? Software that "cleans" your drive can often clean your recent file history. There should be a setting it it to ignore certain applications like excel.

Brian - thanks for suggestion.
I do run RegCure Pro and looked for appropriate options - can't find any.
However just run RegCure & rebooted and last 3 recent files are listed.

Still puzzled - Southampton

Just tried that - there are just 3 items in the list - all generated earlier today and 6 or 7 kb each.

Just completed a 'Repair' (from control panel) on Microsoft Office - keep monitoring situation

Thanks for suggestions
