How can i get all the Series_Values (the sheetnames, rows and columns) feeding a chart all at one time without right clicking->select data->edit
->Series_Name/Series_Values one by one?

thanks very much

Many things are doable.

For example - select the data you want to add to the chart, copy, select chart, paste.

May or may not be what you're after.

I was hoping for an internal table or list specifying the sheetname row and column for each series in the chart without intervention.
Thank you

Unsuprisingly, it would help to point that out in advance.

It can be a bit complicated to get a really flexible set up that facilitates on-the-fly chart creation. Pivot charts are one option; having charts being driven by dynamic named ranges another.

Give us a few more detailed examples of what you are trying to achieve...

I apologize for not being clear.

I'm not trying to create the charts, they are already created, I am trying to document the worksheet addresses that are feeding the charts.

The charts are based on a worksheet with a column for each quarter, and compare intervals of this quarter to last quarter, this six months to the last six months and this quarter to a year ago quarter (e.g. for two years).

I am trying to document the locations that are feeding the chart so that i can look at that list and see the correct intervals are being displayed on the graph (e.g. if this quarter is in Column I, I want to validate that the columns being displayed are comparing Column I to to Column A, Column D and Column G.

To do that now, I must click through to the select data ->series box...I was hoping to find that list, instead of clicking each series.

Thank you for bearing with me.

Ahh...

Good news - I get what you're after now (and to be fair you did more or less say that at the start :) )

Bad news - you need vba for that task, which is not really my thing. Hopefully a vbaer will pass by and help out - I'll keep an eye out.
