Linux- How do I stop cells copying above cells?

I have a time row and below that a number count row.
If the time row had 12.30 on it and I wanted to place a number one below that (in another cell), it just copies 12.30 from the cell above instead of the 1

How do I prevent that from happening?
I use openoffice.org spreadsheet on Linux
