Links not updating

Hi

I've got a workbook with a dashboard in it and it contains links to other workbooks. I changed settings so that the links are updated automatically and the dashboard is continually up to date. For some reason now, the links not only don't update automatically but when i click on Edit Links and click on Update Values, I am asked to locate the file again and I have to go through the process of locating the files and re-establishing the link. This never used to be the case but it needs to be done every single time I open the workbook now. It's a little frustrating and also embarrassing because the links are on a dashboard that I created for my managing director and he needs up to date information without having to fiddle about for it.

If it matters, the dashboard is not open when the other files that feed through to the dashboard are updated with new information.

Has anyone encountered this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Rusty
