Hi,

I have a summary workbook linked to 4 data entry workbooks. All workbooks are used throughout the day by different people and saved periodically. The linked cells do not update when using the "Refresh All" button on the Data ribbon.

However, they do update when closing the summary workbook and reopening. They also update if I select Edit links > Update values but I would prefer to understand why refresh all does not work.

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Refresh all only refreshes queries, data connections and pivot tables. Direct links to other files are refreshed by calculation of Excel. Short-cut for a full recalc: control+alt+shift+F9

Thanks for your reply. Your suggestion does not seem to update the linked cells. Selecting the cell, F2 then Enter does update it but there are a couple thousand linked cells.
