Hi, all,

perhaps this has been pointed out already, but since I'm getting PM's with this one
Erik,
How did you adjust the link so that it positions itself on the post that you refer to?
add this to the link
&start=10 (replace 10 by postnumber)

STEP by STEP
go to first page of thread
possibly you will get this kinda link in your addressbar
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=252527&sid=9a0cc20c4be8f2eec9ef0f06d111bee0
but the following syntax is more useful (you will get it when clicking the subjecttitle again)
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=252527&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
delete the unneeded arguments
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=252527
add postnumber
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?t=252527&start=17

if you can add some useful information or correct some of the above statements, feel free to jump in

kind regards,
Erik

Sure :)

Admittedly it's extremely tiny, but there is a link to each post on the post. :)

Just click the little icon next to the date on the post you want to link to. Looks like this:
icon_minipost.gif

mrexcelpostlinkqb4.jpg

The links from that icon look like this:
http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/viewtopic.php?p=1239118#1239118

And should jump to the post in question (for example, that link should jump directly to this post when clicked.)

oops: I already used that one, but completely forgot

most of all I like your simple
a very soft way to correct me: thanks !
(conclusion: 12000th post wasn't the best sofar)

Actually, I meant that more as "adding some useful information" rather than correcting you. You were not wrong, that is one way to do it. I was just pointing out another. :)

Thanks to both of you! This is good information.

RAM
