Morning all,

I have a link table which I then make 7 other tables from, only problem is when ever I want to use the tables I have to remake them.

Is there a way to have the 7 tables update as the link table changes?

Hi Brett,

Access doesn't support triggers so there's not a way of automatically updating sub-tables when the 'master' table updates.

  1. If the 'link table' is the source of the 7 other tables' data then why don't use just write queries based on it? The queries will be automatically show the most recent data.
  2. If you'd rather have 7 tables then you could perhaps run 7 make table queries when your database starts up. However, if the data in the source link table is changed then your 7 tables will be out of date.

Method 1 is what I'd use.

Thanks Dan,

Yeah thats what I am doing at present the problem with the table is it should already be split but some genius thought that it didn't matter if all 7 branches were combined into one table, thanks for your reply.
