left align across selection

I'm looking for a way to do "left align across selection". Similar to the "center across selection" function that allow the user to format a cell that contains multiple lines of text when "wrapped" and the I do not want to merge cells to fit the text.

The current option of "center across selection" allows the user to refrain from merging cells, but is not ideal for paragraph block text passages. I want to be able to display text in normal paragraph format without having to merge cells and disrupt columns.

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Generally speaking, as long as there is nothing in the cell(s) to the right of your text, the text will appear to 'overlap' those cells to the right without your having to do anything special.

However if something is entered in the next column(s) over, the text in the first column would appear to be 'cut-off'

I'm well aware of that. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the "center across selection" function. When you have a long text string that takes up multiple lines, it allows you to wrap text across multiple cells without merging them together. I want to do exactly that with left alignment.

For example, I would like my text box to be only 3 cells wide - another line starts if it's longer than 3 cells (Wrap text function). I want to know if it's possible to do so without having to enter text in multiple cells or merge any cells together.

I've been trying to figure this out for a long time, I would really appreciated if someone here can help.

Hi And Welcome to the Board
Use the "Centre Across Selection" across the 3 cells and also click on the Wrap text check box
This should then automatically wrap the text within those 3 cells

Thanks.

I want to do LEFT align across the selection with wrapping, not center.

Excel doesn't have a preset option to do it.

Basically, I don't think it can be done the way you want unless you Merge cells, which is what you specifically said you didn't want.
Can I ask why it has to be left aligned......if the column width was narrower, it would appear left aligned, but otherwise, you're out of luck
