Hi,

Don't know much about London area but I'd contact a couple of colleges and see if they run courses although I'd be surprised if they'd do them specifically in Excel VBA.

Other than that there are training centres all over the country that run Excel VBA courses from 1 day upwards although I think these can be quite expensive if you're having to fund it yourself. A quick search on Google should give you some ideas.

A book I got given was 'Excel Programming Weekend Crash Course' by Peter Aitken. It wasn't for me I have to admit as I didn't have the patience to follow it all through but might be worth having a go.

As to how long it takes, who knows? I know some people take to programming like a duck to water whilst others can't get their heads round it at all. I think I fall halfway in between and am learning very slowly when necessity arises more than anything.

The stock piece of advice is to choose a task that you do in Excel that could benefit from automation and with the help of this forum (there's more info on here than any book or course could give you) and other resources have a go at it. Your first effort will be a bit of a muddle to begin with but as you learn more you can return and improve.

Best of luck,

Dom
