Learn Excel from MrExcel podcast, episode 1962 - Excel 365 February 2016 release - Partial Matching a Function Name!
Hey, welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, I'm Bill Jelen.
Now again, everything we're talking about here is, not just Excel 2016 but the newest, latest, and greatest.
You have to have Office 365.
If you have Home or Student, you probably already have it, if you have a Business subscription, you have to go on their First Release program, that's the magic version number, and check this new feature out.
So, if you know that there's a function, but you can't quite remember, like the one we talked about yesterday, TEXTJOIN, if I just type =JOIN, they figure out that I'm talking about TEXTJOIN, they offer me anything that matches.
So if I don't know if I need HLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, if I just start to do LOOKUP, they're going to offer me all three of those.
Now if I want VLOOKUP, I'll press the down arrow twice, and then tab to actually select that.
If you don't remember what this means, then hit the "Fx" button there, or CTRL+A, and it will walk you through, step by step by step.
Small improvement, but a nice, nice feature.
Alright hey, check out the next video, use the button in the top-right hand corner, to see what else is new in this latest release of Office 365!
Well hey, I want to thank you for stopping by, we'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel!
