Hi I am new to this board and have tried every solution to inserting leading zeros.

My question is how to insert leading zeros to the following cell entry?

206A
206B
206C
206T

I have tried the format function but this does not work due to the fact I have a letter on the end of the cell entry.

Please help I have over 2000 cell entries on one column.

Thanks.

Select a hidden cell

Hi,
Since the cells are already text due to the trailing letters, you could concatenate a zero into the cells using a helper column. If your first cell is A1 and contains "206A", then enter this formula into B1 and drag down:

=CONCATENATE(0,A1)

Then you can copy and paste-value the data in column B back in to column A.
