Leading 0's Format As Text Restricts Column Pasting

Hey,

I have a data source of numbers from AS400 that I need to paste into Excel, I usually manually type the zero after the left cell but wanted to see if possible to paste in leading zero's which it was if you format as text. However this now pastes the whole data source into one column and not multiple?
