I have set up a number of excel workbooks accessed by clicking a hyperlink in Internet Explorer

Trouble is the workbooks open in the browser as an object rather than the browser launching Excel and opening the workbook.

The workbook has macros that send mail but because they are opened in the browser the mail system is not available.

The IT guys tell me they can't get the browser to lauch Excel. Seems weird it works in other places.

So browser guru's how do I annoy the IT people by telling them what to try.
