Last Initial, First Name

I have a list of people in the Last Name, First Name format. So everyone doesn't acquire last names, I've been asked to change it to Last Initial, First Name. Is there an equation for that?

Ex. Smith, John to S, John

Excel Formula:
=REPLACE(A1,2,FIND(",",A1)-2,"")
