Hi

As a novice with Access, I noticed that a database which is importing nos from Excel (10 tables - about 18000 rows of 20 columns each) - the file size was about 40MB...is that normal?

Also, when importing a particular table, it did not download all the rows and gave me an error message...

"Method Columns of object IImexgrid failed"...and then the error file is filled with Type Conversion failure error messages for the missing rows....

Thanks & Regards,

G

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
Do you ever Compact & Repair your database to keep the files size down? See: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HP051874491033.aspx

Regarding the records which didn't import, Access should create an Import Errors table which shows which fields and which records had problems. Take a look at your tables to see if you can find it.

A "Type Conversion Error" usually means you have an invalid entry for some of your data, i.e. trying to import Text into a Numeric field, not importing anything in a required fields, etc. Sometimes if you have blank rows, or end of file characters, they can give you these errors becasue there is nothing to import for these rows.
