Lack of Memory posting Excel object to PowerPoint

When copying and pasting MS Excel (Mac 2011) into PowerPoint, receive error "Not enough memory available to read worksheet".

I saw a similar post in 2010 with no responses. Thanks for any advice
 

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
