Keep getting #VALUE! in my cell - why??

This is driving me nuts. Maybe something simple.

I have a simple formula

@if(D10+F10=0,0,(D10-F10))

I created this so that if D10 and F10 do not have a value yet I do not get zeros in the column. Now I get the word #VALUE! instead.

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
They are both formatted to Accounting but I reformatted to Number. Still the same problem. Also the cell that I have my formula in I checked the formatting.
