I've been sent a 3D Pie Chart.

Dear Forum,

I've been sent a 3D Pie Chart and the sender is too far away to slap.... what should I do?

I want to ask the sender about the size of two of the slices - they look pretty much the same, but the raw data suggests that one slice is 26% while the other is 14%.

I'm thinking some kind of punishment is in order, but apparently I can't use capital punishment in a workplace environment.

Does anyone have some code that will transfer an electric shock via a worksheet function?

We need to change this law! Or, at the very least, allow corporal punishment in the workplace.

I concur, I don't understand the OP's post. Is this some sort of British humor I don't understand? Do people in England not like 3D looking objects? Please, enlighten me

They're great as long as you're trying to:
Distract people from the data; or
Misrepresent the data; or
Avoid ever being employed as an analyst; or
Get a job in marketing.

I see that you like them as well... Are 2D Pie Charts considered acceptable?

When used correctly (i.e. parts representing a whole) I don't see the issue.

If you have 2 or at most 3 data points, they are tolerable. Otherwise they should generally not be used in my opinion. There's a good article by Stephen Few called "save the pies for dessert" that's worth a read.
