Hello everyone,

I need help with an Excel issue I’m encountering. I’m working on a left-to-right oriented sheet, but I recently encountered a table in a right-to-left layout. When I copy and paste the table from the right-to-left sheet into my left-to-right sheet, the column positions change. For example, columns that were originally on the right side end up on the left side in the new sheet. This also affects the date formatting, which is not appearing as expected.

My goal is to paste the table into my left-to-right sheet without losing its original layout. I want to preserve the column order as it appears in the right-to-left table, but at the same time, I need the sheet orientation to remain left-to-right.

Has anyone faced this issue or found a way to copy and paste without messing up the data layout or sheet orientation? Any tips or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
I don't think there is special way to copy it.
You may (it's quick way despite long dscription) copy the columns (possibly with empty row above, or add empty row after copying).
in this row write 1 and 2 and drag these two cells by fill handle to last column.
Then select columns together with added numbering and sort with options set to sorting left to right sort on first row descending
delete added row. And that's it.

As for date formatting - give us more details what changes.

The steps are presented on this screenshot - background is a R-L oriented workbook and in front L-R one
