Hi everyone,
Im going crazy. Although this seems easy, I can't figure out how to get the right formula.
My situation is as follows. For an stock investment strategy I am trying to calculate how much better our strategy is performing versus the stock. I have 2 variables:
1. My profit or loss. Which can be negative or positive.
2. The profit or loss from the stock. Which also could be negative or positive.
Thing is though: when the stock has a loss, and my loss is less, this should be a positive number. When the stock has a profit, and my profit is lower, this should be a negative number. When the stock has a loss and I have a profit, my gain is more than my profit. When the stock has a profit and I have a loss, visaversa.
Lets say Cell A1 = My P/L, A2 = Stock P/L, A3 = Surplus
What should be the formula for A3?
