Preface this with many thanks to anyone that can assist in resolving.

So, beginning this morning, I'm unable to launch MS Excel. Any attempts to open a new session, or open any MSE file return the following:

My machine has over 100GB of ram. I can launch Excel in safe mode, however that doesn't help my issue. Further, I have several windows scripts that open various Excel files (in the background) , execute macros and save files. All of these continue to run without issue. I simply cannot open any new instance of MSE or open any existing MSE workbooks..none, zilch, nada.

I have:
Checked Task Mgr for any and all exe running
Ran MS Office Repair
Cleared Power Query cache (in safe mode)
Checked for Windows & office updates
Rebooted machine numerous times

Aside from a a complete wipe and reinstall, are there any additional recommendations any users might have?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
If what Microsoft says is true it looks like you are using a 32-bit version of Excel. Be aware that the 32-bit edition of Office is limited to 2 GB (enlarged to 3 GB) of virtual address space so it's useless to have "over 100GB of ram".

Yep, it's the 32-bit version. Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade to the 64-bit due to various 32-bit ODBC drivers being used with data connections in workbooks, and these drivers not have compatible 64-bit versions.

I've never encountered such an issue like this. Any workaround here or am I basically limited to a full reinstall since 64-bit upgrade is not an option.

Thanks

You need to work on/debug your macros to see where your ram is used up. Maybe oversized ranges or overdemensioned arrays or whatever uses a lot of ram.

Yikes...not good. I cannot even launch a new session of MSE to debug/review. I have dozens of workbooks with macros.

I was to say: "open your file in Safe-Mode" but if all your files have the same issue, well ... probably it isn't a ram problem.
