I have Inter to Advanced experience in Excel 2003 and I wanted to get more experienced with Pivot tables, Vlookup, and Macro's. Would you advice
taking one of these courses for a day? Or is it just as easy Working with this site and other helpful Excel resources online? Please advise.

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
It's a tough call but I would generally think a day with a teacher and a lot of hands on instruction would be time well spent - if you have the $$ and can spare the time.

I'm very self-taught but did take one class on Excel (a regular semester-long course). It seems to me that whether by way of school or self-study you invest time, so why not do it in good company and with a teacher? However, you'd want to carefully evaluate the course and be sure its not covering too much of what you already know.

That said, expertise in Excel isn't likely to come in a day and if you truly want to learn all this program can do, you'll probably want to become familiar with online resources and other ways you can continue to develop your abilities.

If you have specific questions (and the money can be found), one-on-one with a good trainer will get you further in a day than a public course.
The reason is that you get to set the agenda, and the trainer should be able to show you alternative ways to get the job done.

As Alex says, online resources (and having a real problem to solve) are invaluable -- but I reckon the training could give you a kick start (disclaimer: I have worked part time as a trainer for quite a few years).
