Is Excel 2010 worth the upgrade?

I mean, MS Office 2010 (but referring to excel). My work uses excel 2010. But at home, I am using 2007. Are there any major differences?
If I saved a worksheet on a 2010 version and use 2007 to open it up, will there be any hiccups? I just don't want to fork out $180 on something that I think is compatible.

Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"
Web searches for topics like 'Office 2010 improvements', 'Word 2010 improvements', etc should tell you whether the changes from office 2007 offer enough for you to justify an upgrade.

Check with your company and see if they subscribe to the MS HUP plan. If they do, you can buy the whold MS Office Professional for around $10-$15 US. Google MS HUP and you can determine if your company participates also.
