I want to understand where Data-->Queries and Connections Pane is physically located? Is it part of Excel or PowerQuery. It is important to me to know so I can understand the difference between Connections and Queries and why they are there. Thank you very much.

It doesn't physically exist in any meaningful sense.

Queries are part of PQ, whereas connections are the link between PQ (or any other non-Excel data source) and the Excel UI.
