Inventory data in excel

Hi everyone. I have a data set in excel that shows me hospital drug inventory and value by day, but because it shows by day, when I try to look at the average for a month it is incorrect because the same drug can be shown 10 times within that month but the count and value are not shown on a rolling basis. How can I fix this in excel so that I can see the value and count of all drugs by month without this repeatitive issue. Thank you for your help!
