I define a name as A with a range of A1 to A15 (works fine)
Then define a name as B with a range of B1 to B15 (also works fine)

When I try to do the same using a name as C it errors out and says "that name is not valid"

What is so 'special' about using C?

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
I understand Excel does not allow Named Ranges with the names "C' or "R" becuse of the R1C1 reference style.

Perhaps someone knows a way around this, but I have not seen one yet.

Perhaps you could use a sligtly different name, such as "_C_" or something like that.

Hope this helped.
