Is it possible to force for an example a pop up box to open in access if a value in an excel spreadsheet reaches a predetermined value and if so how would you go about it.

Any help or other ideas would be appreciated.

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Link the Excel file to Access as a table, then use it in a query to set your criteria, Then use code to activate the query maybe with a form, I can't give you the code right now I haven't tested it, but the first part should get you started.

Depending on when you want to see this data you could set it to a macro to be activated by an event..opening of form, on update after change etc found in your form properties.
