Insert Row Grayed Out, Two Tables: How can I insert in both?

I made a table next to a table of employees.
This table has formulas that I would like to preserve (auto-populate) if someone inserts a row.
But if I try to insert a row across sheet, it is grayed out.

My users do not know excel so trying to tell them to do two different "Insert Into Table" is not going to work.

Anyway around this or is a macro the only way?

thanks

Pete

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
A macro is the only way. It's generally not advisable to put tables next to each other like that.

Thanks guys. No the sheet isn't protected. I didn't even realize it would happen when I made the second range into a table.
But maybe there is a way to make custom totals at the end of the first table.
The other table is using data from the employees so I will give that a shot. thanks
