I have a master sheet that pulls data from 6 different sheets using an index function. I need to have a the first column on the master sheet display what sheet the data came from. I know I could just add a hidden column to the first column of each individual sheet and have it pull through but I was hoping for a cleaner method.

I was thinking about naming each each range in each sheet the sheet name and then on the master saying if this entire row matches any row in the named ranges display the named range...not sure if that would even work.

Does anyone have any other ideas than just adding a column to each sheet?

Thanks!

Matt

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
You could add a comment (programmatically).

You could have a hidden sheet that tracks data and where it came from.
