i hope i am doing a right translation for the commands: i am using some symbols from the internet (small jpgs with a size around 3 kb), inserting them in excel using the menu: insert --> image from file...; the symbol itself is saved in a subdirectory of where the mainfile is saved; after saving, closing and reopening my mainfile, the symbol is missing, a frame with a red x is replaceing it. Still, clicking on it triggers the makro, whenever i mark the shape of the frame and change the size, my symbol displays again, i can even give it the same size of before, symbol displays. after saving, closing, reopening, same problem.

anyone has an idea why this is? couldn t find any solution in google.

thank you!

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Just a possibility - if you are using Windows 7.

I have has some strange problems in Windows 7. I share drive F: (folder) on my home network.

Using Visual Basic 6 I have made up a toolbar .exe which uses images from shortcuts. If run from drive F, where it did work until a Windows update, I get error message "Invalid Picture". I also found that I cannot run ANY .exe file from that drive. Copying my mini application to another local drive solved the problem. I tried all sorts of suggested methods to change security without success.

Strangely I can run anything in that shared folder on other machines (XP Sp3)
