Hi

I have the following but would like to change the $A$2 the same formual as the second cell reference ie $A$"&MATCH(S3,Summary!A:A,0) but I'm struggling

=AVERAGE(IF(WEEKDAY(INDIRECT("Summary!$A$2:$A$"&MATCH(S3,Summary!A:A,0)),2)=M2,INDIRECT("Summary!$E$2:$E$"&MATCH(S3,Summary!A:A,0))))

This (And a few others efforts) is what I've come up with but a no go...

=AVERAGE(IF(WEEKDAY(INDIRECT("Summary!$A$"&match(S2,summary!A;A,0)&:$A$"&MATCH(S3,Summary!A:A,0)),2)=M2,INDIRECT("Summary!$E$2:$E$"&MATCH(S3,Summary!A:A,0))))

EDIT: Forgot to mention formula is entered as an array

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Perhaps this:

=AVERAGE(IF(WEEKDAY(INDEX('Summary!$A:$A,match(S2,summary!$A:$A,0)):INDEX('Summary!$A:$A,match(S3,summary!$A:$A,0)))=M2,INDEX('Summary!$E:$E,match(S2,summary!$A:$A,0)):INDEX('Summary!$E:$E,match(S3,summary!$A:$A,0)))

I think I missed a bracket and left unnecessary quotes in. Try this:

=AVERAGE(IF(WEEKDAY(INDEX(Summary!$A:$A,MATCH(S2,Summary!$A:$A,0)):INDEX(Summary!$A:$A,MATCH(S3,Summary!$A:$A,0)))=M2,INDEX(Summary!$E:$E,MATCH(S2,Summary!$A:$A,0)):INDEX(Summary!$E:$E,MATCH(S3,Summary!$A:$A,0))))
